RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
that would be exciting if it hides the Scottish. Right now the only thing I have on range is dominant to Ocicat Blue which is a huge range! Knowing something it is recessive to would help a lot. Recessive to Coffee would be awesome because it would drop the range to like 5 furs.

Recessive to coffee would mean only Foxie Blondie plus 2 unplaced furs, but Blondie proof would place it, it would then depend on where AMDC and Pandie Plat fell in relation to the Blondie as well. They may require testing against the Scottish.
I'm not holding my breath on it being that easy though. Also have a AM Lilac potentially hiding the Scottish growing up in my cattery. A top end from either would be awesome to at least give us a test range.

RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
Just had this born today, But since Hisolda hides Blue Mink I am holding off opening until I get results from the AM Lilac test I am running and the Coffee and Cream since Pink and White is Dominant to both those. I'm looking for the Scottish under both those furs which if proven means this cat hides blue mink not Pink and White. If both tests fail meaning the Scottish passed the hidden I'll pop this one for a look Smile

Scottish Shorthair is RECESSIVE to Aussie Mist Lilac Marble.
Its quite large but we do now have a test Range.
Heres the proof on the Lilac and I'll pop the snowshoe Red that was just born to Snowshoe Red and Scottish Parents Smile

Scottish Shorthair is DOMINANT to Coffee & Cream No.1

The baby of Ebony & Montgomery shows Scottish so hides Snowshoe Red or Ebonys hidden.
Ebonys Hidden is Coffee & Cream No.1 so the baby hides Snowshoe Red or Coffee & Cream No.1, therefore Scottish is Dominant to Coffee & Cream No.1 and I'll be popping the box to see which is it Smile
Proof that Ebony hides Coffee & Cream is in the second gyazo.

Red shows dads fur and his hidden comes from mum Ebony. Baby had Coffee & Cream No.1 proving this was indeed Ebonys hidden fur.

Can end the test with the coffee & cream baby as it must hide Dads Blue Marble.

I believe that my Scottish Shorthair male (from Arwen's cattery) is pure, since he has fathered four Scottish Shorthair boxes. You can never know for sure, but he definitely likes to show off his fur!

His proposed partner is Rats! who is known to hide British Shorthair

This pairing should not only give me purrdy kittens, but can also narrow the spread considerably

Rats! and Pierre have just delivered a *drum roll* BRITISH Shorthair

I hope this means that the scottish is recessive to BSH, but there is a chance that Pierre hides AM Blue Marble. The box is unpacked for testing
