RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
It has been a while since Fabao posted evidence that Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White is dominant to Pandie - Brown & White

This pedigree more than suggests that it also is dominant to Ocicat Ebony Silver.

Grandma Annika shows Ocicat Blue, and Grandpa Layton shows Ocicat ES.
Mum Leona Shows Ocicat Blue and hides Ocicat ES or more recessive from Layton.

I digged back into Layton's ancestors, and haven't found anything more recessive that Ocicat ES, which is present on both sides of his ancestry.

This means that there is a fair chance that Layton's fur is pure.

While this isn't what I would call hard evidence, it's a good starting point for further testing.

Layton's pedigree for reference:

RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
That certainly looks like a good place to start with test matings, as the pedigrees do add up to suggest that Scottish fur is *likely* going to be Dom to the Oci Ebony SIlver.

RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
I found this while i was shopping for the Scottish fur
it was bred by Dottie Idlemind

this seems pretty conclusive that the Scottish is dom to the Aussie Blue Marble to me i followed the Aussie's line as far back as i could , the good thing with this is that it can not pass the Burmilla CSS, it only passed the Scottish

the cat Dania does hide the Aussie Blue

RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
Update on current Scottish pairings I have.
Scottish & Tonk Champange - first baby thet both threw hidden furs, trying again on Friday.
Also have a Scottish paired with an Aussie Lilac, baby due on Tuesday.
Will post results when I have them Smile
Both quite dominant furs but I hope at least to put a top end on it so we have a smaller range to test.
Will also retask the snowshoe Red I am testing against the British once I get results from that. Smile
Not keen to test against the British until its actually placed though as it just confuses things.

Thank you, Songdog! That's a great proof!

Updated the Fur List on the first post (keeping track of everybody's dominance proofs until they show on Saga's)

Hopefully one of these hides the Scottish so we can at least put a top end on the test range Smile

RE: New Scottish Shorthair - Brown & White recessives
So I did a test pairing with my Scottish Shorthair and the Snowshoe Red I was using in the British tests. This is what I got.
Already confirmed the Coffee & Cream is hiding in the snowshoe so either Dad passed his hidden or Scottish hides am popping the box to test. As you can see Dad hides Blue Marble.
