RE: Moss eye
Dry Olive was most recessive for a long time. Exotic Journey was discovered May 18, 2015. If Eleanor's line is "well over 400 days old", then showing a continuous pedigree dating back to before the introduction of Exotic Journey with last year's spring cats should be sufficient. One could theoretically posit a super-recessive undiscovered eye lurking, but the chances of that are teeny.

RE: Moss eye
OK. If the line is that old and hasn't had starters from after May of last year, then it's good enough for proof of dominance to Dry Olive.

RE: Moss eye
One of the saga project breeders showed me two charts they are sending in to Saga's. Proves Moss is recessive to Onyx. I am hoping they will post it here later.

That means Moss is between Onyx and Dry Olive

only needs to be tested against Tranquility and Double Odyssey Love

RE: Moss eye
Yay! Thanks for posting these,PurringFox. Great job!!!

I am reposting the chart's inline to make it easier for you

First, here is the dad's chart you posted

first right side for Kermit the dad
Kermit's Mom Belden starter has Gen Aqua shown
Dad Bob has Strawberry Bell shown
Kermit has Strawberry Bell shown, hid will be from Mom

Kermit is placed against his Mom Belden
Mom Belden starter has Gen Aqua shown
Kermit has Strawberry Bell shown
Baby has Moss eyes, Moss is both Mom Belden and Kermit's hid so Baby is pure Moss , shown and hid

Next is the baby of the dad's chart you posted
Mom Ardella shows Onyx eyes
Dad Pure Moss eyes shows and hides Moss eyes as proven above
Baby shows Onyx eyes
Moss has to be recessive to Onyx because Moss has to be hid as Dad can only throw Moss .

RE: Moss eye
I just had a hunt through my cattery and discovered a line of pure Tranquility so am opening one to test against the pure moss I have. Will give a definitive result Smile

RE: Moss eye
Ran Tranquility and Double Ody Peace. Both are dominant to Moss. Will post the DOP as it puts moss as DBL ODY PEACE>MOSS>DRY OLIVE.
Raising child from Moss x DOL to prove Moss carried.

Hopefully I will remember how to post the images.

the child is the one I will breed to something more recessive to dry olive

this is the moss to dry olive breeding

will post when I breed the baby but I think Moss is placed

Until we know if Fay hides Moss or Dry Olive, Moss is not placed, either could be hiding under the DOP.
Can we see the Tranquility proofs as well please? Are they more definitive?
I know several people are currently raising cats to test the Tranquility so proof it dominant would save us all some time.

Maybe you could run the DOP test again using the pure Moss cat you used for Onyx

RE: Moss eye
I am partnering with Cee on the Tranquilit proof. The baby is growing an needs to prove it's hid. While Cadi the mom Tranquility eye looks pure, there is a possibility she hides Dry Olive as both her parents do. The dad a proven Pure Moss passed his eye and it shows. We should know in a couple weeks if it hides Tranq or Dry Olive.
