RE: New Chic Tail! Post your evidence here!
well hopefully this is enough proof for you Swanky tail traced all the way back to the starter through 7-8 generations!
When I first found Chic I consulted Fabao about the line, his word was good enough for me.
Maybe you would now care to share your Tiger Curl evidence with the rest of us so we don't have to just take your word for it!

and as a side note in case anyones interested in the purity of this line I just bred Fonteyne back to his daughter today and they gave me the Odyssey FrazzyWave from the same starter as the Swanky.

Thank you so much for that Fabao, it was great to be able to trace the hidden tail all the way back to the starter, your help in proving Chic's dominance to Swanky was invaluable, now if we can only see the proof of recessive to Tiger Curl we can finally place chic between them with no doubt in anyones minds Smile

RE: New Chic Tail! Post your evidence here!
First of all, let me state that I am certain Chic tail is dominant to Swanky, and that it will eventually be proven to be so.

Unfortunately, I see an issue with the attempted proof posted here that I haven't seen resolved, The problem is that the proof that Cat "C" is pure is missing one thing; proof that Cat "C'"'s paternal grandmother (9t, Salt, Belli, Twink (ID: c0175986-4f0e-fdbf-8b4e-34627fb8490a)(hopefully I typed that correctly lol)) is pure Shorty tail, or at least that her hidden tail is no more recessive than Swanky. You see, if she hid a more recessive tail than Swanky, and it got passed to her kitten (Cat "C"'s paternal grandfather shows Shorty tail, so it could have happened), and then to Cat "C", Cat "C" would no longer be pure, and that hidden tail trait recessive to Swanky could potentially pass down the entire line. A highly unlikely scenario, for sure, but one we have to take into account when we consider whether something is "proven" or not.

If you can show me proof that Cat "C"'s paternal grandmother isn't hiding a tail recessive to Swanky (I looked at the above screens carefully and couldn't find it, but I'm not perfect lol), please show me. It would make the proof complete. Smile

Thank you to everyone for your efforts on this. Hopefully this will be proven soon! Smile

RE: New Chic Tail! Post your evidence here!
I know Chic is listed in Saga as recessive to Tiger Curl but no proof has yet been posted here. Quite by chance and without realising I paired my Starter the Chic tail came from with a boy showing Tiger Curl for her very last box and was rather pleased when I saw what I had done.

First we have evidence again that the starter hides Chic as previously shown in this thread,

And here having passed her hidden Chic tail we see the dominant tiger curl showing

Now anyone that requires to see the proofs can see that Chic is firmly placed between Tiger Curl and Swanky.

Fantastic job, Arwen. OMG

Yes. no one ever saw evidence for recessive to TigerCurl.

Now, there really is a visible proof for this. tyvm

Again, thank you for the wonderful work, and for sharing their pedigrees.

Let's build a community to help and contribute.!

hugs
