Older kitty Storage

As we have the online cattery, I know many of us keep kitties we plan to permapet. It's not cheap to do, so a thought came to me, why not a storage panel/tab for kitties that we play to permapet where they do not have access to food or milk? We all know SL likes to eat things out of our inventory. This would save many people from having to file tickets for MIA kitties they have in a to be permapetted folder. Just a suggestion.

That is a really good idea. Right now, I have to pull them out of cattery into inventory to let them "starve" there until I can afford to PermaPet them. It would be really nice to have a way to just single them out in the cattery.

Along the same lines, it would be so nice if I could create sub-folders in the cattery, so that I could quickly find the kitties who are being groomed for a particular project. At the moment, I am running half a dozen alts to manage different breeding projects. This get unwieldy. In the real world, at my paid job, I arrange my inbox folders and my MS Word files for easy access to specific projects. Wish the same were true for my "fun" job!

I have a cat alt and use her cattery as storage - no food - but the cats are safe there.

I imagine a lot of people use an alt to store cats they don't want to feed. Or to feed without milk. Or ...

Frankly, that's exactly the option everyone who has asked wants ... with one major difference .. it would sure be nice to not have to create the alt (which means another username and password to lose, and another cut-out email account, with still another username and password to lose, and a KittyCatS web account, with STILL ANOTHER username and password to lose) just to work around the restrictions of the current system.

It's not a question of whether KittyCats can afford the storage or processing overhead .. they're already paying that. It's simply revising the design to recognize current realities and make their user's lives a bit easier.

Yes, having to store kitties on alts I see as more a headache then anything else. Storage tabs to me make more sense then say alts for storing kitties to per permapetted or say different projects in separate panels. The more alts there are the more accounts for KC to keep track of, which to me frankly seems more a headache then anything. Storage tab for kitties we are no longer feeding etc, seems to me would save a few headaches maybe.

*nods* Just some way to select who gets milk and who gets food would work wonders.

It would also be nice to be able to sort boxes: Sell in Store, Auction, Menagerie Kitties, Unpack when Live Ones Get Older, Double Stubby Whiskers Project, etc.

I have asked for this myself and the usual answer I get is, make an alt and keep them there. So that is what I did. I sent the kitties waiting for permapetting to my alt who has food but no milk in her cattery.

That said, I think some type of sorting system would be great (beyond what we already have). I'm not sure if the current server would support some type of tabbed system (where we could even make our own tabs for sorting), but maybe it's something that could be considered.

I SOOO wish I could sort my kitties on the same avatar's cattery! If I could find a way to designate some for feeding and some for "starving", without having to menagerie ones I might want to Perma Pet later, it would be much better. And yes, I know I can just pull them out into inventory and starve them there, which is what I do now...but of course, that fills inventory and relies on the good performance of Linden (which is never a good bet!)
