There were inches of dust for many blocks. The windows that were intact were dirty brown. All you could smell was burning electrical wiring. At first I said, “ wtf is with these people making money off such tragedy” then realized, this is NYC, these are people trying to get a start on the American dream, you do what you can to get moving, and someday you can afford a gas station, it was no longer a tragedy to them, it had become... an opportunity.
