RE: Permapetting
Perma-petting does not pay for anything you can't get for free except the ability to see your cat running and playing.
If you have a special cat you want to save for a year or two in case the you want to play with it again, or in case market develops and you can sell it at a high price, just box it and store it in inventory. You get the same free updates. You get the same free space on the server. And if you lose the box you get the same free replacement. In a year, when you want to see it again, pull it out, feed it for a week, and it's as if you fed it all year without fail. The only differences? You didn't pay to feed it. You didn't have it running around your cattery, and you have to move it to a skybox for a week so you don't have to see under a blanket.
If you do that, and have the cat out for a month or so each year, you can go about a decade before the costs of feeding the cat exceed the cost of permapetting the moment the idea to keep the cat hit you.
